Home to the same family for over three decades, the Priory has a rich history dating back 600 years and an atmosphere of remarkable calm. It does have a special magic; it has such a relaxed, timeless, and calm feel that those that love it just can’t keep away. A home with so much character is hard to find. Much of its charm comes from it not being a show home, rather more a well-loved faithful friend of a home, whose long history gives the house a particularly peaceful atmosphere. It was built in the 1400s as a Priory and inhabited by monks for two centuries. Not only a place of peace and worship, it was apparently used as a hospital in the civil war, with monks attending to casualties from battles which took place in fields near the house.
